Product Details

While many consider Wisconsin 55 to be an heirloom variety, it is actually an open-pollinated variety developed at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. The variety was bred by J.C. Walker, using crosses with John Baer, Del Monte, Early Balmore, and Redskin as parents. Fruits are 4-12 ounces and are red and round. Blemish-free, even after ripening, excellent flavor all through the season, very good yields; reliable producer in a bad summer. Always a staple in our garden. Regular leaves, indeterminate. About 80 days to maturity after transplanting.
