Product Details

Lot of 8 vintage color photographs, each 4x5.75 inches, documenting Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina during the SFOR peacekeeping era, circa July 1999 (per '07/99' marking on photo backs). The set forms a coherent travel/deployment sequence along the turquoise Neretva River and through Mostar's Old Town, showing: a war-scarred stone tower beside a domed mosque with scaffolding and a crane, suggesting active reconstruction; riverside stone buildings pocked with bullet/shrapnel damage beside an outdoor cafe terrace with a red Coca-Cola umbrella and partial storefront sign; sweeping river views past red-tile-roofed hillside villages and a stacked-stone bridge reconstruction platform; a small stone-arch footbridge amid partially rebuilt war-damaged houses; and the standout image - U.S. soldiers in camouflage walking a narrow cobblestone lane past parked vehicles, one bearing a foreign license plate ('TL 15714'), strongly evoking the SFOR deployment presence in the town. All prints are color with consistent period lab characteristics; condition is generally good with minor handling wear typical of the era - please review photos for condition. Associated with the estate of USAF Col. Patricia Jane Harrington. A strong mini-archive of war-damage, reconstruction, and military presence imagery best sold as an intact themed lot.
