Product Details

A spectacular dimensional vintage rhinestone brooch attributed to Juliana / DeLizza & Elster, featuring rich smoky brown elongated navette stones, brilliant aurora borealis rhinestone accents, and two dramatic ribbed givré glass focal stones at the center. The Juliana attribution is based on the combination of construction characteristics visible on the reverse and profile of the brooch. The elongated navette stones are unfoiled and set into open-backed stone cups, a technique documented as being used prolifically in DeLizza & Elster designs. The piece also displays the raised, layered construction and complex mixture of stone shapes and specialty glass associated with D&E jewelry. CJCI's DeLizza & Elster identification guide specifically documents unfoiled elongated navettes in open-backed cups as a recurring Juliana construction characteristic. The reverse shows joined rhinestone-cup and soldered construction consistent with characteristics collectors examine when identifying unsigned DeLizza & Elster jewelry. “Figure-eight” puddling is a recognized identification clue in Juliana research, although I cannot confirm every solder junction on this specific brooch as diagnostic figure-eight puddling from photographs alone. The combination of open-backed navettes, highly dimensional layered construction, AB accents, and specialty givré glass makes this a strong DeLizza & Elster / Juliana attribution. The piece is unsigned, and I have not confirmed an exact verified design match; it is therefore being sold as attributed to Juliana based on construction characteristics rather than as a database-verified design. A gorgeous statement piece with exceptional depth, warm smoky tones, flashes of AB color, and fabulous dimensional sparkle. Vintage and antique jewelry may show age-related wear, surface marks, patina, discoloration, or other signs of previous use. Any age, material, stone, maker, origin, or style identification is based on available markings, visual characteristics, and seller research and is not guaranteed unless specifically stated as independently verified. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the item description and condition assessment.
