This little patch of lemon balm began as tiny seeds in the spring. Since then, almost every morning, I’ve walked down to the garden with a cup of coffee in hand to water it, pull a few weeds, and watch it slowly grow. Harvested by hand, gently washed, and carefully dried in small bundles to preserve its bright citrus aroma and vibrant green color. Every pouch is filled and labeled here at the cabin in the Finger Lakes of New York. Lemon balm has been treasured in cottage gardens for centuries. Traditionally enjoyed as a calming herbal tea, it’s known for its gentle lemon flavor and has long been used in herbalism to support relaxation. It’s wonderful by itself but also subtle enough to add into your favorite tea blend. My hope is that when you brew your first cup, you’ll slow down for a few minutes and enjoy it the same way I enjoyed growing it, from seed to harvest, and now from my garden to yours.
