​This is a genuine, hand-stitched Suzhou (Sūxiù) silk embroidery screen in glass, featuring a vibrant peony and delicate butterflies, showcasing the refined, technical needlework of the Suzhou region. It is approximately 6 in in diameter. ​ It features exquisite hand-blended silk thread. By splitting silk threads into fine filaments and layering varied shades, the artisan achieved a gradient ombre effect. This technique provides the embroidery with the depth, soft transitions, and dimensional quality of a fine painting, distinguishing it from mass-produced machine work.
