Product Details

A Fede Gimmel ring is an interlocking betrothal ring, characterized by two or three hinged bands that open and close to display clasped hands (fede). Symbolizing trust, love, and fidelity, the hands represent the joining of couples. Inside of ring is stamped "STER". Appears to have a maker's mark which looks to be "IC". The "I.C." stamp is a known vintage maker's mark frequently found on Edwardian and Art Deco-era sterling silver fede gimmel rings manufactured in the early 20th century (circa 1900s–1940s). Some collectors associate the "I.C." mark with the American silversmith James Craig, though I’m not 100% sure if that’s the correct maker.
