Vintage glazed porcelain oil lamp base from Occupied Japan, circa 1945-1952. Features a hand painted Colonial or Victorian couple in multicolor attire with gold tone metal collar. Measures about 7" H x 3.5" W. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Missing the upper burner and wick assembly, so it is sold as a decorative base or restoration piece. Shown on page 168 of Gene Florence’s Occupied Japan Collectibles 2001. All items are vintage or second hand and sold as is. Minor wear may be present due to age and use.
