An original antique steel engraving titled “The Eastern Pass of Glencoe (Argyleshire)”, drawn by Thomas Allom (1804–1872) and engraved by W. Hill. First published circa 1836–1838 in William Beattie’s celebrated series Scotland Illustrated in a Series of Views, this atmospheric print captures the dramatic landscape of Glencoe during the early Victorian period. Allom was a highly regarded topographical artist known for his detailed architectural and landscape scenes. Details: - Artist: Thomas Allom - Engraver: W. Hill - Date: Circa 1836 - Medium: Steel engraving - Mounted in a grey-green card mount The print is in good antique condition with minor age-toning and light foxing. The mount has a water or damp stain to the lower-left corner, as shown, while the print itself appears largely unaffected. “1836” is handwritten on the mount.
