The film chronicles the turbulent life and career of legendary British comedian and actor Peter Sellers. It traces his rise from a popular BBC radio performer on The Goon Show to becoming a global cinematic icon, most famous for portraying Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther franchise and starring in Dr. Strangelove. Driven and coddled by an overly possessive mother, Sellers struggles intensely with his own personal identity, famously claiming he has no real personality outside of the characters he embodies. His severe self-doubt, narcissism, and erratic, volatile behavior eventually destroy his personal relationships—including his marriages to Anne Howe and Swedish actress Britt Ekland—leaving him deeply isolated before his premature death.
