This is a vintage Benrus Sea Lord "Shock-Absorber" dress watch dating from the late 1960s. Benrus was a major mid-century American watch titan, and the Sea Lord line served as a more elegant, dressy alternative for civilians who did not have access to the rugged military-issued pieces Benrus was producing for the US armed forces at the time. The Dial: Features a pristine silver sunburst finish paired with highly distinct, mid-century retro boxed Arabic numerals at the cardinal positions (12, 6, 9, 3). The Case: Features a round, gold-plated or gold-filled finish with cross-hatched minute marks decorating the outer chapter ring. The Movement: Powered by a 17-jewel Swiss mechanical hand-wind movement equipped with built-in shock absorption technology to handle everyday bumps.
