This one is a first for me — a phoenix carved in relief across a pale nephrite jade oval, wings spread beneath layered gold work. I have seen cranes and doves in this style, but never a phoenix. The phoenix rising from ashes means something to me — it is part of why Blue Moon Rising carries its name.💙 No markings anywhere, so I am going by what my jeweler saw looking through his loop and his experience rather than a stamp. The bail reads as gold filled, and the raised front design is a heavier gold plate. Not certain about the outer edge, but it likely matches. This also goes along with how these were usually designed by the artisans. The celadon jade sits in the nephrite family, softer than jadeite, with a warm, pale tone. Pendant measures approximately 1.5 x 1.125 inches. Including a vintage 18 inch herringbone chain as a gift, unmarked, likely gold plated — swap it anytime.
