Oversized vintage postcard featuring a colorful period-style advertising illustration of a Black man holding a sign that reads, “Great Bargains in Clothing This Season,” for Starkey & Wellman of Brooks Block, Brattleboro, Vermont. The bold green background, expressive portrait, and early clothing-store advertising design give the card strong crossover appeal for collectors of Black Americana, antique advertising, Vermont history, retail memorabilia, and historical ephemera. Produced in 1975 by Hickory, Inc. as part of its Collectible Note Cards series. Although this is a later reprint of an earlier advertising image, the postcard itself is now over 50 years old.
