This would be really a cool item for a stage prop or display piece. This vintage item with the novelty decals reminds me of something that would be found in a post-apocalyptic fallout type of world. This 8-sided, octagon, 8-inch plate is fairly thick and heavy. It has a unique dark yellow color. This dish shows its age. It’s been heavily used, possibly even in a restaurant or café setting. It’s fascinating how folks didn’t know the hazards of spicy glazed dinnerware. This plate has scrapes from silverware, small chips, and worn edges around the rim, and the glazing has discolored areas, stains, and dark spots. The condition of this plate combined with the radioactive decal makes it a cool display piece. Spicy glazed. G-M counter verified (see video). A spicy 6000 CPM using the highly-sensitive GQ-GMC-600 Pro. Barely glows under a 365 and 395 UV light, mainly due to its dark yellow color. Come with a CPM certification sticker located on the bottom. Has a large radioactive decal on the top, and a smaller one on the bottom. These can be removed if desired (soap might be needed), but I think they add to its character and make it more of a display and show piece. That’s why I added them in the first place, so this piece stands out in my display cabinet. No maker marks. Could have had a paper label at one time. I cannot find any information on this piece. Most likely manufactured in the 20s through 40s since it utilizes spicy glaze. Please do your own research on this piece to determine maker and year made. See pictures for condition. The item has minor manufacturer imperfections. Condition has normal wear consistent with authentic vintage items. Has scuffs from actually being used as a plate. Has scrapes, chips around the edges, and the glazing has discolored areas, stains, and dark spots. I don’t see any crazing, which is usual for older spicy glazed pieces. There are the typical kiln marks on the back where the piece rested on stilts in the kiln. These marks are not flaws or damage. See pictures for size.
