Product Details

Otodus was a genus of extinct, large, "megatoothed" sharks that lived from the Paleocene to the Pliocene epochs (around 60 to 3 million years ago) and included the famous Otodus megalodon. Known for their large, triangular teeth with cusps, these apex predators inhabited oceans worldwide, with species like O. obliquus reaching up to 30 feet long and O. megalodon potentially growing over 60 feet. They are considered ancestors of the modern great white shark lineage, though recent studies place them in their own family, Otodontidae, separate from Carcharodon.
