This piece was meticulously constructed using traditional tinsmithing techniques, mirroring the primitive aesthetics of early American bakeware.The cutter features a decorative, detailed multi-pointed starburst cutting edge and a central air-vent hole designed to cleanly release pastry dough. The flat backplate features a sturdy, hand-soldered arched strap handle and is clearly machine-stamped with the artisan's maker's mark: "D. WITKEGE".It exhibits an excellent, aged rustic patina with honest wear and minor surface oxidation that gives it an authentic antique look. Structurally sound with tight solder joints.
