Beautiful vintage Japanese ribbon plate dating to approximately the mid-20th century. Features hand-painted pink and orange poppies with green foliage, surrounded by an ornate reticulated openwork border. The pierced loops were traditionally designed for weaving decorative ribbon through the edge so the plate could be displayed on a wall. Finished with sponge-applied metallic trim and marked “Made in Japan” on the back.
