Product Details

ca 1930s-1950s Japanese porcelain saucer w/distinct "iron red" floral design and brown leaves reminiscent of vintage Japanese Kutani styles. Features a hand-painted floral motif with prominent red and pink flowers and detailed brown foliage. Note the chrysanthemums and hand-painted rims, characteristic of Japanese Kutani and export porcelain produced during the Showa period, particularly from the 1930s era through the post-WWII 1950s export boom. The style features a mix of hand-painted iron-red linework and printed transfer elements under the glaze, a hybrid production technique common in mid-20th-century Japanese factories catering to Western dinnerware markets. Some chipping as shown
