This is a stunning, highly detailed Southwestern Native American inspired decorative gathering basket or wall hanging. I picked this up myself in 2010 from an Indian reservation in New Mexico. It has been kept in a box away from any dust until just a month ago, removed only to take pictures for a resale. Meticulously handcrafted utilizing natural coiled plant materials, this beautiful statement piece is heavily embellished with genuine soft rabbit fur trim, layers of authentic multi-colored bird feathers, and rustic leather details. The focal point features a central circular leather patch displaying a unique textured stone accent detailed with a black animal paw print symbol. Measuring approximately 15 inches tall with a matching 15-inch top opening diameter, (please see measuring tape), this substantial piece showcases incredible texture and dimensional artisanal character. It still has the original price tag of $340.00 of which I negotiated the price to $250 because I purchased many items that day. I am open to offers. It is being offered in excellent condition with intact, vibrant plumage, making it perfect for creating a dramatic focal point in a cabin, lodge, or rustic bohemian setting. PLEASE NOTE: the small hole visible on the bottom of the basket, which does not take away from its overall beauty or value, seems like a natural occurrence in the way it was woven.
