The jigging style on the yellow bone handle is actually a tribute to the work of Charles Platts, a prominent cutler from Sheffield, England who brought his knifemaking skills to America at the end of the 19th century and later joined his knife company with W.R.Case and Sons Cutlery Company in Bradford, Pennsylvania in 1905. The Trapper gets its name from the consumer it was designed for. Because of its basic trapping and skinning blades and its light weight, it is a must-have knife for those who trap small game.
