Amber is a fossilized resin of ancient trees after the trees fell. They were carried away by rivers to coastal areas and buried under many layers of sediment eventually trees decay, and the resin turned to Amber after millions of years. Amber sometimes contains the perfectly preserved remains of ancient animals, insects and plants. Although it comes mostly golden this is a fossilized resin of natural amber before it turns. Most Amber dates from the Cretaceous and tertiary periods 10 to 100 million years ago, though some can be found from the Carboniferous period over 300 million years ago.
