Product Details
Authentic late 19th-century Victorian brooch featuring an ornate Rococo Revival floral and scroll design. Crafted in gilt brass with layered openwork construction, giving the piece depth and dimensionality while remaining lightweight and wearable. The center is set with a domed black glass cabochon secured by original hand-formed prongs. The surface shows soft, even wear consistent with 19th-century wash or fire gilding. The reverse is fully finished and fitted with a hand-formed hinge and a guarded C-clasp, a transitional pin construction used in the late Victorian period prior to modern locking safety clasps. Unmarked, as typical of the era. Uncleaned and unrestored. Guaranteed antique. A strong example of Victorian Rococo Revival jewelry, ideal for collectors of antique costume jewelry and decorative arts.
