Product Details

Notes: This authentic Egyptian faience scarab amulet dates to the Second Intermediate Period (17th Dynasty, c. 1627–1601 BCE) during the reign of King Nebiriau I. Molded from a self-glazing quartz composition, the artifact features a beautifully preserved, copper-based turquoise glaze that pools inside its deep recesses. The base is inscribed with the pharaoh's royal prenomen (throne name) "Sewadjenre," translating to "He whom Ra causes to flourish." These non-stone, molded amulets are highly characteristic of the resource-constrained Theban kingdom, serving as a vital historical record of southern pharaonic authority and personal protective magic. Artifact type: Egyptian Ruler: Nebiriau I (King) Artifact: Faience Scarab Top – Diamond Pattern Face - Sewadjenre - He Whom Ra Causes to Flourish Mint: (1621-1601BC) Wt./Size(LxWxH): 1.55g / 16x12x7mm References: • ACXJL07
