Hand painted tole silent butler in a soft teal green with a gorgeous floral spray of roses, chrysanthemums, and daisies in warm gold, ivory, and amber tones. The octagonal metal body has a hinged lid and a fluted handle, made in the classic toleware tradition where crumbs were swept off the table and tucked inside for a tidy finish. Gold scrollwork trims the border and the whole piece carries a wonderful aged patina, with light surface wear, scratches, and a bit of honest character on the back that only add to the charm.
