Hand Carved Solid Wood Ashtray Genuine Monkeypod Made in Hawaii ~ Damaged Pottery Bowl This is a heavy piece of hand-carved exotic monkeypod. This was a popular piece of tropical or tiki-themed decor in the 1960s & 1970s. It is approximately 6" in diameter and 2" tall. The bowl appears to be made of a pottery material like terracotta. It has a significant crack probably due to this ashtray being stored in a hot attic for 50 years. The piece is too pretty to discard. I can see it filled with buttons, marbles, or other decorative embellishments that would highlight the wood. I've sharply discounted the starting bid to find it a good home!
