Distinctive artisan Dove of Peace brooch by Seeká / IS·ART, dating to 2003. The sculptural dove is constructed from laser-cut stainless steel and decorated with richly colored artist's resin, copper-tone wire and beadwork, and sparkling crystal accents. The layered resin has a glossy clear finish that gives the colors considerable depth and dimension. The brooch retains its original Seeká / IS·ART information card. According to the printed card, the jewelry was created in Brooklyn, New York by Israeli artists Stavit and Nachshon, graduates of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. The card identifies the materials/process as laser-cut stainless steel, artist's resin and Austrian crystal. The original card has a handwritten notation dated 3/18/03, identifying the piece as "Dove of Peace" and noting that it was purchased at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. This handwritten provenance is included with the brooch.
