Product Details

Rare vintage Japanese Dragonware Moriage porcelain butter pat / pin dish (circa 1921–1941) with hand-stamped red "Made in Japan" backstamp. Measures 3 inches with a scalloped edge and fine gold rim trim. Identified specifically as a butter pat because it features a completely flat central well with no indented cup ring, distinguishing it from a tea saucer or cup coaster. Unlike typical black or dark dragonware, this piece showcases a hard-to-find soft seafoam green backdrop with raised hand-applied moriage clay slip detailing depicting a dragon among wispy clouds. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with intact raised slip work, vibrant glaze, and no chips or cracks. Light edge gilt wear.
