The functionality is not affected. See photos. This is a vintage ceramic German beer stein, commonly known as a souvenir item. It features a hand-painted depiction of the Stiftskirche church in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The mug also boasts an intricate design reflecting local customs in raised relief style art giving it a 3D design effect. This mug also has a music box in the bottom. Once winded, it will chime the tune of "Schau mich bitte nicht so an " as you are drinking or lifting it up & it will stop once the mug is set down on a flat surface. It does work! While it can be used for drinking, it is primarily collected as a decorative decor item.
