Product Details

This is a hard to find 11" tall 1940's "La Madelon" doll by Madeleine Frazier. She's all-composition with painted eyes. She's very cute, but she does display heavy wear including: heavy crazing and cracking in the paint, brittle mohair, balding on the back of her head, and general surface wear from age. She does appear to be all original, and is dressed in a light pink dress with matching bonnet, shoes, and undergarments. She is sold as-is, for restoration or for parts. From the 2000 Sept. Issue of Doll Reader: "Madeleine Frazier's 1940's doll company used the bodies of the Dream World dolls but used a different head mold. It's said that the designer, Mary Ryan, wanted dolls with a "French touch", and her way of expressing that was to give these dolls their very distinctive round face with the big soft eyes and wavy blond hair."
