Product Details

This is an outstanding example of an original 1912 Elgin manual-wind mechanical trench watch. It features an Elgin 0s size, Grade 263, Model 3, 17 jewel movement, serial number 16411070. It is relatively clean and currently running well, but service history is unknown. As with all antique watches of this type, it would likely benefit from a full service. The dial is a classic white porcelain with oversized arabic hour markers, and blued broad spade and arrow hands. The dial shows considerable cracking with a piece missing between the subdial and the center hole. The dial, hands, and case show considerable patina consistant with this era of trench watches, and could possibly indicate actual use in WW1. The traditional trench-watch has a hinged caseback is signed "Philadelphia Watch Case Co., Silverode," and serial number 667360. It measures 32.3mm without the crown, and 35.2mm with. The strap is a non-original 14mm nylon NATO-style piece, that will fit up to an 8" wrist. SOLD AS-IS
