Beautiful matching pair of early reverse-painted glass silhouette pictures featuring period interior scenes. One depicts a seated gentleman and lady beside a fireplace, while the companion piece depicts a woman in a full period dress holding a candle in front of a curtained window. Black silhouette details appear reverse painted on the glass, creating a wonderful layered effect with the finely illustrated backgrounds. Both retain their dark frames and metal hanging loops. Backs are marked: “PATENT APPLIED FOR – Deltex Products Co., Brooklyn, N.Y.” These have wonderful early American/Colonial Revival character and would be beautiful in a vintage gallery wall, historic-inspired interior, cottage, traditional, primitive, or antique decor collection.
