Authentic vintage 1970s Art Nouveau “Byzantine Brunette” belt buckle manufactured by Bergamot Brass Works. The imagery is directly inspired by the iconic 1897 lithograph artwork Byzantine Heads: Brunette by the famous Czech Art Nouveau painter Alphonse Mucha. It is made of a heavy, durable brass-plated or solid bronze-toned base metal alloy designed to naturally tarnish over time into a beautiful antique patina. The "E-60" stamp on the reverse side is the specific design catalog number assigned by Bergamot Brass Works, a prominent commercial buckle manufacturer based out of Wisconsin that popularized these artistic metal reproductions during the 1970s bohemian fashion craze.
