An American visits her future husband stationed in West Germany when East German police kidnap her and take her across the border in a case of mistaken identity. She is taken to a prison known for its brutality and under intense questioning confesses to being a spy for the CIA in exchange for her release. It s a lie and she is sentenced to three years.
