Beautiful antique 10 karat yellow gold shell cameo convertible brooch/pendant featuring a finely hand-carved classical woman's profile in an elegant pierced openwork frame. The detailed carving, flowing hair, and substantial size make this a standout estate piece. Although the piece is not marked for gold content, it was professionally tested with an XRF analyzer and confirmed to be solid 10K gold. The cameo measures approximately 1.8 inches long including the bail (see photos for exact measurements) and weighs 11.93 grams with the shell. The working pin and integrated bail allow it to be worn as either a brooch or pendant. It is in very nice antique condition with light age-appropriate wear.
