Late 19th to early 20th century Prosser Bead Rosary - see info below History and Invention The Patent: Invented in 1840 by English brothers Richard and Thomas Prosser, the technique was originally designed to manufacture durable ceramic buttons. The Process: Known as "cold paste pressing," dry or slightly damp clay/porcelain paste was molded under immense hydraulic pressure and then fired at high temperatures.
