antique American Waltham Watch Co. Royal pocket watch, dating to approximately 1896–1897. The movement is marked: ROYAL American Waltham Watch Co. Adjusted Safety Barrel Serial No. 7,198,659 The ornate hunter case was made by Keystone Watch Case Co. and is marked “J. Boss 14K Guaranteed 25 Years.” This marking identifies the case as 14K gold-filled, not solid gold. The exterior features detailed engraving with an architectural scene on the front. The watch winds, ticks, and is currently running. Its accuracy and power reserve have not been tested, and the service history is unknown. As with any antique mechanical watch, cleaning or servicing may be recommended before regular use. Condition: Antique preowned condition with age-related wear
