Product Details

Step back in time with this stunning pair of authentic, handwrought Mexican sterling silver earrings from the historic silversmithing hub of Iguala, Mexico. Dating to the mid-1930s to late 1940s, these collectible pre-eagle hallmark earrings beautifully capture the spirit of mid-century Mexican folk art jewelry design. Each earring showcases a rectangular panel of natural, highly iridescent rainbow abalone shell (paua shell). The inserts display an elegant play of light with deep ocean blues, vibrant emerald greens, and soft pink flashes. The colorful shell panels are safely nestled inside an ornate, handmade frame decorated with traditional silver wire scrolls, flourishes, and symmetrical ball accents. The backs are stamped with the highly sought-after pre-1948 curved regional hallmark reading "IGUALA" alongside the "925" purity mark.
