Twelve-year-old Djata and his mother Hannah (Agyness Deyn) are labeled as traitor families after his father Peter (Ross Partridge) is taken away by the regime. Djata refuses to give up hope and tries to find out what happened to his father, facing systemic oppression and cruel authorities, including his own estranged grandparents played by Jonathan Pryce and Fiona Shaw.
