Beautiful vintage necklace featuring a vivid blue molded and pierced glass plaque with a bird and scrolling foliate design. The glass is surrounded by an ornate gold-tone openwork filigree frame. Origin: Bail/connector marked MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA Material: Blue glass; tested with Presidium Pendant: Approx. 1 1/4" x 1" Chain: Approx. 16" Closure: Spring-ring clasp Metal: Gold-tone mixed-metal construction Metal Testing: Pendant XRF tested primarily copper and zinc with a small amount of surface gold, consistent with gold-tone/plated base metal. The chain was tested separately in multiple areas and produced consistent XRF readings of approximately 22% gold at the tested surface. The spring-ring clasp tested approximately 33% gold. The analyzer indicated possible plating. Under magnification, the spring ring has a very faint, partially worn fractional-style mark including a slash and what appears to be a "K." The complete original mark cannot be confidently read. Testing and the remaining mark may be consistent with an older gold-filled or gold-overlay construction; however, the chain is not represented as solid gold or as a specific gold-filled fineness/fraction.
