This is an original vintage June 8, 1948 wire service news photo (ACME / Newspaper Enterprise Association) documenting a fatal train-car collision near Kalamazoo, Michigan with deceased victims laying in a ditch alongside railroad tracks. The photo shows an overturned, crushed automobile lying upside down next to Grand Trunk Western railroad tracks, with bystanders and first responders gathered beside the scene. The top of the photo features an inverted, original wire telephoto caption slug dated "SB1-6/8/48-KALAMAZOO, MICH" detail-documenting the crash involving a train hitting a vehicle carrying members of the Brown family.
