Beautiful antique wooden carrying case featuring richly figured quarter-sawn style oak, an original worn leather carrying handle, metal corner protectors, center clasp, and brass hinges. Measuring approximately 12.5" x 12" x 5.5", this compact case has a wonderfully aged surface with deep warm tones and loads of authentic character. The interior features a large open compartment along with a narrow divided compartment along the back. The original purpose and maker are unknown, as no identifying markings were found. Based on its construction and hardware, it appears to be an early utility, tool, or equipment-style carrying case. Its original contents are no longer present. A gorgeous piece for rustic farmhouse, primitive, cottage, or vintage-inspired decor. Style it on an end table with old books and a lamp, use it for keepsake storage, or display it on a shelf or cabinet.
