He was the fourth of the Five Good Emperors from the Nerva–Antonine dynasty and is considered one of the most peaceful Roman emperors. His reign was marked by stability and peace, with no major military conflicts or revolts. He died of illness possibly from eating spoiled cheese as described by the Historia Augusta.
