The cameo is carved in creamy ivory tones against a rich coral-orange shell background. Her elaborate upswept hairstyle, delicate facial features and draped clothing are beautifully rendered. A tiny chain has been applied to the cameo and suspends a dark decorative pendant, giving this piece wonderful dimension and character. Set in an ornate scalloped gold frame.
