Beautiful vintage Waltham marriage/conversion wristwatch featuring an antique American Waltham Watch Co. hand-wound movement, serial 12,147,771. The watch has a cream dial with applied gold-tone Arabic numerals, matching gold-tone hands, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, and railroad minute track. The later wristwatch case is marked “10K R.G.P. Bezel / Stainless Back”, case no. 5,860,463, and is paired with a brown leather strap. Important condition note: The watch is running and can be wound/set; however, the crown/stem assembly is not retained by the case and can pull completely out of the watch. The crown can be reinserted and engaged, but it will need a proper retention solution or repair. This is being disclosed clearly and the watch is sold as-is with this issue. An attractive and unusual Waltham marriage watch combining an early American mechanical movement with a later wristwatch case. Shows normal age-related wear, scratches, patina and oxidation consistent with its age.
