This solution is the go-to for Silver and tends to work rapidly (start with 5 to 10 minute soaks). I have used it extensively with most of my silver conservation projects and it always makes the job a great deal easier as well as works at removal of dirt and encrustation with minimal mechanical conservation simply by soaking! Patience and soaking will loosen the dirt quickly based on the type of encrustation on the coins.
