This is an authentic working vintage Art Deco Seth Thomas "Travatrix" 8-day Swiss folding travel alarm clock. Wound clock to test, was still ticking 24 hours later and alarm fuctioned. Housed in a sleek arched black Bakelite/composition casing, this compact timepiece features a folding brass front door and easel stand inlaid with textured red diamond-quilted leatherette. The cream dial features Art Deco numerals, an arched chapter ring, pierced luminous hands, and is signed "Seth Thomas / 8 DAYS JEWELED / SWISS". The back is equipped with a high-grade 7-jewel Swiss movement stamped "TRAVATRIX / SETH THOMAS / 7 JEWELS / SWISS", and the brass frame is stamped "CASE GERMANY". Measures just over 2 1/2 inches tall.. Condition is very good vintage; the Bakelite housing is solid with no cracks, the red leather inset is vibrant and intact, and the brass interior/stand displays an honest aged patina.
