Product Details

Carnival glass, also known as iridescent glass, was produced from the early 20th century until the 1970s, with its peak popularity in the 1910s. It was made by applying a metallic salt solution to molten glass, which then created the distinctive iridescent sheen when fired. This technique allowed for vibrant, shimmering colors that mimicked more expensive blown glass or cut glass. The Fenton Art Glass Company, founded in 1905, was one of the most prolific and well-regarded producers of Carnival glass in the United States. Their "Peacock Tail" pattern, introduced around 1907, is one of their most iconic and sought-after designs, known for its intricate feather-like motif radiating from the center. This particular piece exhibits the characteristic ruffled edge and the vibrant, shifting colors that made Fenton Carnival glass so popular.
