EAPG Early American Pattern Pressed 'Black' Glass Mug With detailed Bird and wheat Produced by the Atterbury Glass Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during the 1880s, the design features an embossed robin perched next to a sprig of wheat on a footed pedestal base. Eastlake Pattern Material: It is pressed Black Amethyst glass, which appears solidly opaque black at first glance but will show a deep purple translucent glow when held directly up to a strong light source. The Handle: A signature identifier for this Atterbury mold is the distinctive squared-off, angular handle adorned with geometric, architectural Eastlake-style texturing and capped with a small finial knob at the top corner.
