Dating approximately 1900–1920s, these rimless spectacles feature large round lenses, a gold-filled bridge and classic pince-nez nose pieces designed to be worn without temples. The bridge bears a faint patent marking. The metal is not karat marked; it has been acid tested and tests consistent with 12K gold filled. The original case is arguably just as charming as the glasses! The interior is stamped in gold: “SAVE YOUR EYES HAVE YOUR EYES EXAMINED ONCE A YEAR” The case shows substantial wear, staining, surface loss and deterioration as photographed. The spectacles show age-related patina and wear, and the lenses have scratches/marks consistent with age and use.
