Vintage Mexican artisan hinged bangle bracelet, handcrafted during the 1970s or 1980s. The front has a traditional Mexican folk-art mosaic inlay. The central flower petals are crafted from luminous white Mother of Pearl shell. The multi-colored, highly iridescent leaves are made from Abalone shell. The iridescent shell pieces are set into a soft pink resin or enamel background canvas. There are two 925 markings on the band but it does not test for any silver. The back is stamped with "ALPACA” which is sometimes called German silver or nickel silver but contains no actual silver metal. The alloy is a durable, non-precious blend of copper, nickel, and zinc engineered to look like polished silver. The inner band of the bracelet measures 6.5 inches.
