Exceptional antique 1899 Parian ware portrait bust of General Sir Redvers Buller, sculpted by W.C. Lawton and produced by Robinson & Leadbeater of Stoke-on-Trent, England. This is an early example from the famous series of British military commanders produced during the Second Boer War. The reverse is incised: “BY W.C. LAWTON COPYRIGHT OCT 30 1899” The October 30, 1899 copyright date is specifically associated with the General Buller bust in the Robinson & Leadbeater series.
